Fact Sheet

Description of the Project

REC is constructing the world’s largest integrated solar energy production facility in Singapore. The solar plant will be based on multi-crystalline technology, and the integrated business model will secure volume off-take and margins as well as in-house base for product development across the value chain.

The BCA Green Mark Scheme was launched in January 2005 as an initiative to move Singapore’s construction industry towards more environment-friendly buildings.

The design and construction of the REC’s facility in Singapore is developed with the aim to minimise the environmental impact and maximise its energy performance.

Project Highlights

The project has obtained the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) ‘Green Mark Gold’ award, indicating that the buildings meet criteria for energy efficiency, water efficiency, project development and management, good indoor environmental quality and environmental protection and innovation.
